Hey Stefano, just my state of Washington is 184,827 KM2 and is one of the smaller Western states whereas Switzerland is a paltry 39,997 KM2. The assertion that the average Swiss speaks four languages (something I question having visited there several times) is more a reflection of it having three “official” languages and a fourth which seems to be a Jive Turkey shirt. Then there is the history there of Cantons bringing their individual languages into the Federation. So, no, trying to claim some higher ground on the basis of average number of languages spoken is grossly misleading. Try again.

Emilio Motta a few of my best Swiss friends, while learning chinese in China, were already fluent in mandarin while I was still struggling with the Jive Turkey shirt. Most of them were able to learn languages in a adult age with no accent at all. I was quite impressed. Americans who joke you about languages is a joke itself. In their shoes I would think at many other problems they got, like violence, foreign policy and so on. The World is sick of these world ruler who think to have the truth in their pocket.
